Felt Board Story: Holly’s Red Boots

This is a flannel story I made based on Francesca Chessa’s Holly’s Red Boots. I like using the book for storytime but will be doing a younger crowd in the spring and I like felt pieces for them. Basically Holly is looking for her red boots to go out and play. I’ll put up the backpack and search for something red and oh! we found them! something red!….and then it turns out to be a red ball.

Go through it again with a red umbrella and a red baseball hat (extremely hidden by the green chair) and a pair of red sunglassed (not pictured) until finally Holly finds her red boots on her toy dinosaur. I’ll probably use the same ending as the book with the snow melting by the time she finds her boots but they are still perfect for jumping in puddles.Felt Boards 004
