Story Time Plan: Loud and Quiet

1

Super great, fun, well-attended(!) story time!! We were very loud, so loud, in fact one of our Circ. people asked why there was screaming happening and was not pleased when I told her my theme was legitimately Loud and Quiet. Be Quiet Mike! was a big hit, with parents and kids chiming in….Hush! went much better than I thought it would, I skipped some animals to shorten the story by everyone seemed pretty captivated…good to use something that looks a little different….Highlight of this story was when one child asked what the baby was sleeping in, to which I replied its a hammock, you’re right it looks different then a crib. She responded with “Hammock….sounds like hamburger” and then giggled. Shout! went a lot better with the parents so I didn’t use it for the younger crowd. I basically was playing part of the song straight from Animal House with a youtube video on my ipod.

Loud and Quiet (Open Shut Them)
LOUD and quiet, LOUD and Quiet,

Clap Clap Your Hands
Clap, clap, clap your hands, Clap them all around
Clap them loud  And clap them soft
Now don’t make a sound

Slap your knees… and Stomp your feet…
