This was a meh story time for me….the crowd was a little too young for maybe the books? i’m not exactly sure, but they didn’t seem to care too much for the stories…for all the leaf songs we used fake leaves and threw them around, so it might have been my own fault for creating literary distractions. On another note, this was the third week in a row using Can’t Wait to Celebrate, so almost everyone participated with all the movements.
BOOK: Tap the Magic Tree
FELT BOARD: Squirrel Things
CUT AND TELL: Color Changing Leaf Story (Courtesy Notes from the Story Room)
BOOK: I See Fall, Ghigna
RHYME: Leaves Falling Down (London Bridges Falling Down)
All the leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down
All the leaves are falling down, it is fall.
Take the rake and rake them up, rake them up, rake them up
Take the rake and rake them up, it is fall.
Leaves are falling from the trees (Flutter fingers down)
Yellow, brown and red.
Falling, falling from above.
One landed on my head! (Hands on head)
“Oh, When The Leaves” (When The Saints)
Oh, when the leaves, fall off the trees.
Oh, when the leaves fall off the tree.
We know that it must be Autumn,
When the leaves fall off the tree.
BOOK: Fall Leaves Fall
