This was an evening pajama storytime so we included a craft! The stories went over well, and I supplemented in between with some Jim Gill songs to get the giggles out. We used “Face the Facts” which asks for binoculars eyes…my tie-in to the black patches for panda’s eyes.

BOOKS:

Chu’s Day! by Neil Gaiman                                                                 J PICTURE GAI

Panda Kindergarten by Joanne Ryder                                                    J 599.789 RYD

Xander’s Panda Party by Linda Sue Park                                              J PICTURE PAR

MUSIC:      Face the Facts & Tempo Marches On, Jim Gill

SONGS:

P-A-N-D-A (From Vivian the Librarian)

There was an animal at the zoo
And Panda was its name-oh.
P. A. N. D. A., P. A. N. D. A., P. A. N. D. A.
And Panda was it’s name-oh.

CRAFT: Panda Plate…..We sewed a half plate to the back as a secret pouch for Valentine’s (PJ storytimes are all ages so this was an option for older kids)….The eye and ear patches are interchangeable so it was easier to glue the pieces on.
